JERRY CANTRELL: I Give SHARON OSBOURNE All My Prayers And Hopes

August 12, 2002

Former ALICE IN CHAINS guitarist Jerry Cantrell recently expressed his support for Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne as the wife of the former BLACK SABBATH singer battles cancer.

"I guess I don't know them too well, but I've known them for a long time. And they've always been helpful to us. Of course I can empathize with it. My mother died of cancer and I had a good friend of mine pass away this year, Randy Castillo, of cancer as well. He was actually involved in the Ozzy camp as well. Like I said, it's a tough thing, and you gotta keep hope. And hopefully things will work out the best for them and I give Sharon all my prayers and hopes for her. I hope she's OK. I really like her. She's a great woman."

Cantrell added, "She's a cool person to hang with, too. I had a lot of really good times with her."
